Another popular dairy product made from fresh cream is butter. Butter production starts by separating cream from whole milk using centrifugal force then churning until solid fats separate out forming butterfat solids while liquid buttermilk remains behind.

This mixture undergoes further processes including washing with water removing excess buttermilk leading to pure butter which can be salted according to preference before being packaged ready for sale.

Other Dairy Products

There are many other dairy products available depending on geographical locations including sour cream, yogurt, kefir among others each requiring unique production processes.

Sour cream is made by fermenting pasteurized cream with lactic acid bacteria lowering pH levels while yogurts are produced from milk or cream that undergoes a similar process to sour cream, but with the addition of specific strains of bacteria.
