Onion bulbs should be planted about an inch deep into the soil with about 4-5 inches apart from each other so they can grow properly without being crowded.

Harvesting onion bulbs requires some patience as they take several months to mature fully depending on the variety you choose to grow. Once they reach maturity stage when their leaves start turning yellowish-brown color that’s when you know it’s time to harvest them by pulling gently on their stems until they come out from the ground completely.

After harvesting your onion crop let them dry out completely before storing them away in a cool dark place like a cellar or pantry where there is good air circulation around them so that they can last longer without rotting.
