One thing to keep in mind when considering an aquaponic system is that it requires careful monitoring of water quality parameters such as pH levels, dissolved oxygen levels, ammonia levels etc., since any imbalance can lead to disastrous consequences for your entire setup.

Another factor worth noting is that not all species of fish or plant thrive well in an aquaponic environment; therefore proper research must be conducted beforehand to determine which species are best suited for your specific setup.
