3) Install gutters or channels: Gutters help direct rainfall from the roof into downspouts which then lead into storage tanks via pipes – make sure they’re properly secured so they don’t detach during heavy storms!

4) Choose storage tank types & sizes: Tanks come in various materials including plastic, metal or concrete; choose one based on durability requirements for your climate zone while also considering how much space you have available for installation. Be sure to calculate capacity based on typical rainfall amounts per month/season plus any anticipated demand from usage patterns over time e.g., if livestock watering is part of plan then more capacity may be needed initially than just household consumption alone would require.
