Pierce Brosnan: The Hollywood Actor Turned Environmentalist
It’s not every day that you hear of a Hollywood actor who is also an environmentalist, but Pierce Brosnan is just that. The Irish-American actor, film producer, and environmental activist was born in Drogheda, County Louth in Ireland on May 16th, 1953. He rose to fame in the mid-80s as the suave British spy James Bond before going on to star in other blockbuster movies such as Mrs. Doubtfire and Mamma Mia!
Brosnan is known for more than just his acting skills; he’s also recognized for his love of nature and commitment to preserving it. He has been a passionate advocate for protecting our planet from climate change through his involvement with organizations like Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, and others.

In recent years , Pierce’s focus shifted towards new projects: He starred alongside Emma Thompson in the 2020 movie “The Last Thing He Wanted” and is set to appear in the upcoming comedy-drama “To All The Boys: Always And Forever.”
